Student excels at health-occupations event

Dobie High School student Dac Vu recently took top honors in the medical terminology category at a national Health Occupations Students Association competition.
The competition was being held in conjunction with the HOSA National Leadership Conference, held in Orlando, Fla.
More than 5,000 students from around the nation competed in a variety of contest during the three-day conference.
Vu advanced to the national event by placing among the top students in the medical terminology category at the regional and state competitions.
HOSA is a national student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Technology Education Division.
Its mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to people.
