Pasadena driver involved in fatal accident

A tractor-trailer rig driven by a Pasadena man was involved in a fatal accident Saturday north of Brookshire.
Killed was Brookshire resident Wallace Eluem Wotipka, 77, who died when the vehicle he was driving crashed into the rear of the rig about 12.5 miles north of Brookshire.
A spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Public Safety said Wotipka was driving a 1996 Ford Escort westbound on FM 529 when the accident occurred.
The spokeswoman said a 2005 Mac truck driven by Jose Elias Gonzales of Pasadena was in front of Wotipka, slowing to turn into the parking lot of a business when the Escort crashed into the back of the truck.
Gonzales was not injured in the wreck.
The spokeswoman said Wotipka was wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred.
