San Jacinto College selects Excellence Award recipients
San Jacinto College recently announced the recipients of its 2012-13 Excellence Award.
According to a press release, the award recognizes faculty, administrators and staff members that demonstrate dedication in service and involvement within the college community, possess role model qualities, work collaboratively with others and work toward addressing or meeting the needs of students and employees.
Recipients of the Excellence Award were Debra Acuff-Whitaker, professor of engineering design graphics at the North Campus; Amanda L. Booren, director of communications and publications for the district; Woody Dunseith, department chair of public safety and security for the Central Campus; Nate Wiggins, professor of mathematics at the North Campus; Dr. Brenda Jones, interim vice president of learning for the South Campus; Celeste Jones, senior administrative assistant for the Central Campus; Dr. Kerry Mix, dean of enrollment services for the South Campus; and Niki Whiteside, vice president of educational technology services for the district.
Each recipient has a choice to attend one of two conferences: the John and Suanne Roueche Excellence Awards conference in March or the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development conference in May.
