Texas Chiropractic College and Sam Houston University signed an academic partnership agreement Thursday, Dec. 13 at the TCC campus.
The partnership has resulted in the creation of the Chiropractic Early Admissions Program for SHSU Medical and Allied Health Program students. The new early admissions program will allow SHSU students to complete a bachelor of science degree, while simultaneously pursuing a doctor of chiropractic degree from TCC. With the new program, students can complete both degrees in six years. Students will complete their first three years at SHSU, and their final three years at TCC.
"It's two well-known institutions who now have the ability to work together synergistically to produce better students," said Dr. Jack Turner, SHSU's director of the Medical and Allied Health Program, according to a press release. "It affords everybody a new opportunity to capitalize on the others talents."
For more information about SHSU's Medical and Allied Health programs, contact Turner at medicalprogram@shsu.edu, call 936-294-2300 or visit www.shsu.edu.
