Chevron honored as Pasadena's Industry of the Month
Mayor Johnny Isbell, members of the Pasadena City Council and Pasadena Industrial Community Network Manager Karen Hollon present the Industry of the Month award to representatives from Chevron Phillips.
The city of Pasadena recently honored Chevron Phillips with its Industry of the Month award for humanitarian efforts in the community.
The award was presented to Chevron by members of the city council and by Karen Hollon, manager of the Pasadena Industrial Community Network, according to a press release.
The city awards the designation to companies who display leadership and dedication to projects improving Pasadena neighborhoods, and Chevron was chosen after several of its employees spent a weekend making repairs and improvements at the home of a senior citizen caring for her blind grandson. The volunteers built a new fence, painted the house, removed and trimmed trees and cleared debris from the property.
"We are fortunate to have so much industry here in Pasadena, and when they give back to the community, it is especially exciting," Pasadena Mayor Johnny Isbell said in the release. "Chevron Phillips is a company that has given back, time and time again. They have always been there to help their neighbors and their community, and I thank them for that."
Chevron Phillips Chemical Company is headquartered at 10001 Six Pines Drive, The Woodlands.
