Deer Park High School grad Jenkins played in the Rice University losing game
Deer Park High School grad Tyler Jenkins had five kills, but Rice University dropped a 3-1 victory to Tulsa University Friday, Nov. 9 in women's volleyball action, according to Rice University's website.
Jenkins, a junior outside hitter, also contributed a .625 hitting percentage.
The Owls lost 22-25, 25-19, 12-25 and 19-25 at Reynolds Center in Tulsa. The team is now 18-11 on the season.
The next contest for Rice is at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at home against SMU.
Jenkins, a junior outside hitter for Rice University, graduated from Deer Park High School in 2010. She was a 2009 team captain in high school and named to the All-District 22-5A First Team and Academic Team. She is the daughter of Danel and Sharon Jenkins.
