Deer Park grad Cruse leads Winthrop University to win
Deer Park High School grad Kristin Cruse had 17 digs Friday Nov. 9, as her Winthrop University volleyball team rolled to a 3-1 victory over Presbyterian College, according to Winthrop University's website.
Cruse, a senior, also contributed four kills in the win, along with a .105 hitting percentage.
The Eagles won 25-22, 25-21, 23-25 and 27-25 at unknown in Clinton,. The team is now 14-15 on the season.
The next contest for Winthrop University is 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, on the road against Presbyterian College.
Cruse, a senior defensive specialist for Winthrop University, graduated from Deer Park High School in 2009. She was selected to the 2008 and 2009 all-state and all-district teams and led her high school to district championships in 2007 and 2008.
