Girl Scouts to host fall rally in Seabrook
Any girl in kindergarten through 12th grade who would like to join the Girl Scouts of America is invited to attend a fall rally hosted by Seabrook's Bay Breeze Service Unit.
The rally, which is designed for girls and adults new to the scouts and current scouts who need to transfer to another troop, will take place from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 at the Seabrook Community House, 1210 Anders St. in Seabrook. The open house will include displays on activities and opportunities and the chance to meet other volunteers and leaders.
According to a press release, girls involved in scouts learn goal setting with council product sales, contribute to the community, learn values and build character through a variety of activities including camps with horses, fishing, canoeing, archery bike riding and swimming.
Girl Scouts is for all girls and annual membership dues are $12 a year. Troop activities, learning opportunities and hands-on experiences are age appropriate, so girls can join the scouts at any age or level.
Registration during the rally will only be open for new registering scouts. Those involved with the scouts last year need to re-register with their troop leader. Anyone uncertain about their troop's status should email sagenurse@yahoo.com or domwestall@gmail.com.
For more information about the fall rally, contact Stephanie Chambers at steph.scouts@gmail.com or 281-326-3440 or Linda Carrington at 281-474-4349.
