Congregation Shaar Hashalom prepares for High Holy Days

Services and activities for High Holy Days at Congregation Shaar Hashalom have been finalized.   Services will begin with Selichot at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 and conclude with Simchat Torah at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8.   First-day Rosh Hashanah services are scheduled for 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept 16 (Erev) and 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. (Tashlich) on Monday, Sept. 17. There is assigned seating at these services. Services for the second day of Rosh Hashanah services are scheduled for 8 a.m., Monday Sept. 17 (Erev) and 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18.   Yom Kippur services with assigned seats are scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 25 (Kol Nidre), and 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. (Yizkor) Wednesday, Sept. 26. Services without assigned seats are at 5:15 p.m. (Mincha) and at sunset on Wednesday, Sept. 26 (Shofar and break fast).   A Sukkot family service will take place at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 5; a Sukkah walk will be held in the afternoon on Sunday, Oct. 7; and Shemini Atzeret will be held at 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8.   A children's service will be offered on the first day of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and babysitting is also available.
