Pasadena to host livestock show and rodeo, barbecue cook-off in September
The 63rd annual Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo will be held Friday, Sept. 14 to Saturday, Sept. 22, and the annual Pasadena Barbecue Cook-off will be held Thursday, Sept. 27 to Saturday, Sept. 29, it was recently announced.
This year's rodeo event features several big name country music performers, according to the event website. Country singer Joe Nichols will perform on the opening night of the festival.
Other artists scheduled to perform include Kevin Fowler, Tracy Byrd, Mark Chestnutt, Chris Cagle, Jason Cassidy and Cory Morrow. The annual rodeo parade is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 on the corner of Spencer Highway and South Shaver Street.
Rodeo admission is $15 per day. The gates open each night at 5 p.m., and the rodeo grand entry and procession begins 7:15 p.m.
Gates for the barbecue cook-off open at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 and Friday, Sept. 28. Gates for the cook-off will open noon on Saturday, Sept. 29.
The livestock show, rodeo and barbecue cook-off will take place at the rodeo fairgrounds and arena, located at 7601 Red Bluff Road, in Pasadena.
