City of Shoreacres to hold City Council meeting July 23

The City Council of the City of Shoreacres will be holding a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, July 23 in the City Council Chambers on the first floor at City Hall, located at 601 Shoreacres Blvd.

The meeting will open with a call to order, a roll call and the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by public hearings, special presentations and comments.

Citizens' comments will be allowed after this, which will enable members of the public to comment on items that do not appear in the agenda. Time is limited to five minutes per speaker.

Next, the council will approve minutes and present reports.

Mayor Arons and Mayor Pro-tem Adams will report on meetings attended.

Staff reports will be given after this, followed by a general activity report, a progress report on the Public Works building reconstruction, a progress report on the Texas Community Development Block Grant and reports on the new police station, improvements to sewer lift stations No. 2 and No. 3 and streets and drainage.

Then the council will provide the monthly financial support.

On the topic of business, the council will discuss consideration and approval of invoices and the following resolutions and ordinances:

Resolution 2012-94, adopting the city's 2012 Goals and Governance Plan; Resolution 2012-95, authorizing the city administrator to contract for services to trap and relocate coyotes; Ordinance 2012-123, amending special speed zones; Ordinance 2012-125, amending no-parking zones; and Ordinance 2012-126, amending rules of order and procedures for council meetings.

After discussions of resolutions and ordinances, the meeting will be adjourned.
