Man charged with taking food from League City Walmart

Michael D. Moore, of Galveston, was charged July 16 with property theft, according to a press release from League City Police.

Currently in the Galveston County Jail, Moore was arrested at 7:40 a.m. on Delaney Road in La Marque by the Galveston County Warrant Division.

Moore, 49, is accused of entering the Walmart located at 1701 W. FM 646, in League City, at around 3:30 p.m. July 6 and taking nine frozen lobster packages worth $170.82 from the frozen foods section of the store without paying.

He allegedly used a Walmart electric scooter to take the lobster packages to his car, a blue Ford Crown Victoria.

A witness saw the vehicle and wrote down the license plate. Moore was later identified through a photo lineup.

Authorities obtained a warrant for theft of property $50 to $500, a Class B misdemeanor.
