Bay Area Sam Houston State alumni plan events
The Bay Area chapter of the Sam Houston State University alumni organization is looking for recruits.
Some 4,000 SHSU grads in the coastal area are eligible for membership. There are no dues to participate, but members must belong to the Sam Houston Alumni Association.
The group meets every month for events like Bearkat football, the rodeo, Astro games, Keels and Wheels, dinner theater and the Blessing of the Fleet. A recent formal dinner at Lakewood Yacht Club featured SHSU president Dana Gibson and members of her staff.
The next Bay Area chapter meeting will be a wine tasting and concert Sunday, July 22. Register by July 15 to SHSUbayarea@gmail.com.
