Camp Clear Lake offers activities on a theme
Camp Clear Lake offers a variety of activities and experiences for campers ages 6-12 throughout the summer.
The camp, at 16511 Diana Lane in Clear Lake, is split into two age groups: a day camp for ages 6-9, and a youth camp for ages 10-12.
The camp is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with camp-planned activities running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The activities for each week follow a different theme. The day camp's theme for the week of June 25 is "Fur, Feathers and Fins."
Children take part in arts, crafts, sports, games and field trips, and swim each day in the camp's outdoor pool. Campers should bring a swimsuit and towel with them.
All swim times are supervised by certified lifeguards and counselors, according to a news release from Camp Clear Lake.
Parents of campers must provide lunch and an extra drink each day. The camp provides a small afternoon snack and makes sure the campers are getting plenty of fluids by taking water breaks throughout the day, the news release said.
Campus recreation professionals and adult counselors supervise the camp, and each counselor is certified in first aid and CPR, according to the news release. The camper-to-counselor ratio is no higher than 10 to 1.
The cost for Clear Lake residents is $161 per two-week session; nonresidents pay $230 per two-week session. Payment is due at registration, and no spots will be held. The camp will accept registrations throughout the summer provided there are spots available.
Parents or guardians must provide immunization records to camp staff before their child will be allowed to attend camp.
To register online, visit www.clcca.org/camps. With online registration, immunization records may be faxed to 281-480-3226.
Access to the gym is off Diana Lane. Access to the office is off Ramada Drive.
