For nine years, League City dentist Cindy R. Castille has been putting smiles on the faces of at-risk students from the Communities In Schools-Bay Area dropout prevention program.

Castille treats students from Clear Creek and Dickinson Independent School Districts who have dental problems that may adversely affect their health or confidence and cause them to drop out of school.

She helped a CIS-Bay Area 14-year-old who was bullied at school because his two upper front teeth had been knocked out in a bicycle accident. A bridge was made to replace the missing teeth and cemented in place.

"Two weeks later when the bridge was put in his mouth, there were as many tears as there were smiles when he looked in the mirror to see his new teeth for the first time," Castille said, according to a press release.

Castille has practiced dentistry with her husband, Gerry Castille, since 1987.

Castille's office is at 1001 W. Main St., League City.
