San Jacinto College wins fourth consecutive financial reporting award
The San Jacinto College fiscal affairs team has again earned the distinguished budget presentation award.
This is the fourth year the team earned recognition from the Government Finance Officers Association. The award is the highest in governmental budgeting and represents the college’s continued excellence in financial reporting.
To receive the award, organizations must satisfy national guidelines, which reflect how the budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.
"This achievement is the result of our fiscal affairs team's diligence in budgeting procedures and guidelines to ensure accuracy in reporting," said Bill Dickerson, director of accounting and financial services at San Jacinto College.
In October 2011, San Jacinto College was the only institution out of 50 community colleges in Texas to receive the distinguished budget presentation award, certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting and the award for outstanding achievement in popular annual financial reporting from the GFOA.
The GFOA is a nonprofit association serving more than 17,600 government finance professionals throughout North America.
