Five Clear Lake-area runners complete Wounded Warrior Half Marathon
Five Clear Lake-area runners completed the Wounded Warrior Half Marathon on Sunday, June 10 in Las Colinas.
Manuel Leyva, 30, and Laura Leyva, 28, both from Galveston, completed the race in 2:29:17 and 2:50:37 respectively.
The runners from Friendswood are Jennifer Foley, 29, and Michael Foley, 29, who both crossed the finish line in 2:14:59; and Mark Mann, 52, who took 2:35:50.
A total of 1,514 runners finished the 13.1-mile race, which started and ended around Williams Square. The beneficiaries of the event are Semper Fi Fund, and ReserveAid.
Noel Fernandez of Irving was the men's overall winner with a time of 1:17:28, while Tara Upshaw of Southlake was the women's winner in 1:24:27.
