Pasadena Parks and Recreation announces summer camp schedule
Several camp activities offered by the Pasadena Parks and Recreation Department kick off June 22.
The first camp, Camp Climb, is for youth age 5-16. Hosted by San Jacinto College, campers will brush up on their writing skills for the fall. Call 281-476-1501, ext. 1561, for details.
The 10-week camp, Camp Lots of Fun, runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily until Aug. 17. It is designed for children age 6-9 and includes field trips, sports, games, crafts and activities. Call 713-948-0322 for details.

San Jacinto College Central Campus Students, for ages 12 to 15, will teach about the energy industry through Energy Venture Camp. Campers will work in teams for interactive games and exercises and learn about career opportunities in the energy field. For more information, visit energyventurecamp.org.
Maritime Camp, hosted by the San Jacinto College Central Campus, is for students age 14-17 and will teach about careers within the maritime industry through field trips to maritime companies and institutions as well as tabletop exercises under the instruction of a retired U.S. Coast Guard master chief. A free program for students age 11-17 will be offered by the Pasadena Police Department. It will take place from 9 a.m. to noon with topics covering crime scenes, fitness and nutrition, anti-bullying and more. Call 713-475-7831 to register your child.
The SJC Central Campus Department of Theatre and Film will present an opportunity for children to develop acting skills while participating in workshops that include voice, movement, improvisations, stage acting, film acting, character development and production. Call 281-542-2039 for details.
There is also an Aquatic Exercising program from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Multipurpose Recreation Center. Participants must be registered as a participant of the center, and the program is designed for adults 18 years old and older. It will be set to music and focus on improving strength, endurance and overall wellness.
