Friendswood and Webster runners complete Impact a Hero 5K Run
Juli King, 32, of Friendswood completed the Impact a Hero 5K Run in 29:32:00, while Teri Hahn, 41, of Webster crossed the finish line in 51:50:00.
The event was held on Saturday, June 2 in Sugar Land. A total of 938 runners finished the 5K race, which was held in Mercer Stadium.
The goal of the race is to bring a "Message of Appreciation" to troops who participated in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Kipkirui Ruttoh, 26, was the men's overall winner with a time of 15:06:00, while Emily Shulik, 22, was the women's winner in 19:04:00.
