At Crazy Alan's Swamp Shack in Kemah, both the alligators and owner Alan Franks are very popular.

Crazy Alan's Swamp Shack is located by the Kemah Boardwalk at the base of the Kemah Bridge next to the marina. This locally owned spot offers casual dinning with a variety of delicious foods, including chicken, burgers, steaks and gulf seafood, but the specialty is fresh Cajun cooking. About 95 percent of all the dishes are made from scratch and original recipes. Try the shrimp and oyster Diablo: shrimp, oyster and jalapeno wrapped in bacon, then deep fried and basted in barbecue sauce. And don't forget the live bands Wednesday through Sunday or the live Caiman alligators on display to delight the kids. This local favorite offers something for everyone.
