Golden Acres, Multipurpose Rec Centers offers variety of summer fun

A variety of summer activities are being offered at the Golden Acres Recreation Center, located at 5001 Oak in Pasadena, and the Multipurpose Recreation Center, located at 5200 Burke Road in Pasadena.

Activities at Golden Acres are as follows:

Movie Mania will take place at 5 p.m. June 29. Guests will watch movies and enjoy snacks.

Get Your Grub On will start at 5 p.m. June 20 and will teach participants how to prepare quick snacks.

Kid Acres will be held at 5 p.m. June 19 for children 8-12 years old.

The Skills Challenge will take place at 5 p.m. June 26 and will allow participants to compete in a variety of sports and challenges.

All of these events are free.

Children younger than age 8 require adult supervision in all activities.

Summer hours of operation for Golden Acres Recreation Center are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.

Activities at the Multipurpose Recreation Center are as follows:

Camp Climb is a summer camp for children ages 5-16 and junior counselors ages 17-22 that will take place June 18-29.

Camp Strive is a traveling camp that will take place July 9-20 for children ages 16 and older.

Camp Achieve will take place July 23 through Aug. 3 for children ages 5-22.

Paralympic Sports Camp is a wheelchair sports camp that will take place Aug. 6-10 for participants ages 5-25.

Hours of operation for the Multipurpose Recreation Center are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays.
