Bay Area A&M Club announces next meeting
The Bay Area A&M Club's next monthly luncheon will take place at 11:30 a.m. June 14 at the Bay Oaks Country Club, 14545 Bay Oaks Blvd., Houston.
The guest speaker will be Brig. Gen. Joe Ramirez Jr. of the Texas A&M Corp of Cadets.
Ramirez attended Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston, where he participated in the JROTC program. He went on to attend Texas A&M University, where he earned a bachelor of science in physical education and from which he received his commission in 1979 as a distinguished military graduate. Ramirez also holds a master's degree in management from Webster University in St. Louis, Mo. and a master's in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Penn.
Among his military awards are the Distinguished Service Medal, the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal and the Parachutists Badge.
