'Camping With Gasoline' premiers at opera house
The one-person comedy play "Camping With Gasoline" will be performed at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. June 16 at the Grand 1894 Opera House, located at 2020 Postoffice St. in Galveston.
The show is both written and performed by native Texan Jaston Williams. The play includes biographical bits about his unusual childhood in West Texas, the late-night smoking and gambling of his Boy Scout troop and a disastrous excursion to Guatemala.
Williams has performed on and off Broadway and is recognized as one of the creators and performers of the Tuna Series. He received the L.A. Drama-Logue Award, a Helen Hayes Award nomination for "Best Actor" and the Texas Governor's Award for "Outstanding Contribution to the Arts by a Native Texan."
Tickets to "Camping With Gasoline" are $25-$45. Call for pricing on box seats.
