Standout student or athlete can win Space Center trip
Lake Houston Area Events, the company behind the Clear Lake Area Home and Garden Show, is looking for a STAR student to honor with a trip to the Space Center in Houston.
LHAE is asking for nominations of STAR students in grades K-11 who have overcome challenges in life. That person should be a stellar athlete or scholar and someone who always goes above and beyond.
From nominations and subsequent voting by the general public, one lucky winner will be awarded a trip to the Space Center.
That winner will join other chosen students and have a choice between an exclusive lunch with an astronaut or enter a rocket-building competition experience.
Nominations will be accepted through Wednesday, July 25.
LHA events staff members will select the 10 top nominees for the general public to vote on. The grand prize winner will be announced when voting concludes Aug. 15.
