Hibiscus show, dog show among events in Pasadena this week

Art Exhibit Opening: The Houston Area Community College Student Exhibition opening will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Arts Alliance Center at Clear Lake, 2000 NASA Parkway, Nassau Bay. Hibiscus Show
The Space City Chapter of the American Hibiscus Society will be hosting its 2012 show featuring flowers for sale, raffles and information on hibiscus plants and gardening 1-4 p.m. at the East Harris County Activity Center, 7340 Spencer Highway, Pasadena. Bark in the Park
Galveston Island's second annual Bark in the Park Dog Show, featuring contests, vendors and more, will be held 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. at  Kempner Park, 27th and Avenue O, Galveston. Pet professionals will also be on hand to answer questions about spaying and neutering, and microchipping will also be available for $20 while supplies last. The cost to enter the competitions is $10 per dog/per class. Proceeds raised during Bark in the Park will benefit the Galveston Island Humane Society.
