Scholarships available for truck-driving certification
Thanks to a recent $100,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, students who are interested in getting certified in truck driving can now apply for scholarships to cover tuition fees at San Jacinto College.
Qualified students may receive $2,050 for the six-week course in safety awareness and training for the truck-driving workforce. The program at SJC has a 100 percent job placement rate upon successful completion of the course and passing of company background checks, according to a press release.
