Police release sketch of burglar
Houston Police Department Major Offenders Division investigators are seeking help to identify the person responsible for a burglary in the 9800 block of Palmfield Street that took place about 5 p.m. Jan. 7.
The burglar was a Hispanic or white man in his late 40s to early 50s, measuring 5-foot-8 with stained teeth. He is believed to be a smoker and has a very unkempt appearance.
The man approached a 75-year-old woman in her front yard and said he was with Centerpoint Energy and needed to speak with her about re-routing power lines in her backyard.
The woman followed the suspect into the backyard, where he abruptly walked off toward Old Galveston Road during the conversation. When the women went into her home, she found her purse and its contents dumped on the floor and later discovered that cash and jewelry were missing from the residence.
