San Jacinto College names 2012 Outstanding Faculty

Professors Clara Evans and Barbara Brown are recipients of this year's San Jacinto College Central Campus Outstanding Faculty Award.

The award recipients are nominated by their colleagues and chosen by a selection committee.

According to a press release, Brown serves as an English professor and department chair for English, speech, modern languages and communications. Evans is the department chair for computer information technology, engineering design graphics, electronics technology, interior design, agriculture and ag-business and cosmetology.

"It's humbling to have been chosen by your peers," said Evans, a 1995 SJC alumna, in the press release. "I'm very honored to have been selected along with Barbara because we are friends. It's a nice feeling."

Both professors will lead the student processional at this year's Central Campus graduation ceremonies.
