San Jacinto College announces February concerts
San Jacinto College will host several concerts at its central campus in February.
The following shows are free and will be held at the Dr. Monte Blue Music Building, 8060 Spencer Highway, Pasadena.
Feb. 1, 1:30 p.m.: Mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton presents master class with student vocalists.
Feb. 2, 7 p.m.: Barton will present a vocal recital with accompanist Keith Weber. Music by Henry Purcell, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Leonard Bernstein and Jake Heggie.
Feb. 19, 3 p.m.: Chamber music by University of Houston's AURA. A mix of American and international music.
Feb. 24, 6 p.m.: Expo and seminar concert featuring four choral ensembles, the orchestra, jazz ensembles, the concert band, the wind ensemble and the steel drum band. A talk about what it takes to become a music major starts at 6 p.m., followed by music.
Feb. 26, 7:30 p.m.: A combined concert by the Houston Bach Society and Mercury Baroque.
