SJC to hold auditions for 'A Clockwork Orange' on Jan. 18, 19
The Theatre and Film Department at San Jacinto College Central will hold auditions for “A Clockwork Orange” on Wednesday, Jan. 18 and Thursday, Jan. 19.
Adapted from Anthony Burgess’ novel, “A Clockwork Orange” is the story of 15-year-old Alex and his nasty gang of “droogs,” slang for friends. At Alex’s orders, they go about a path of destruction through dank city streets at night. The show is rated R for language and adult content.
The play calls for 15 men and eight women, who will all be cast in double roles. The age range for the roles is 18 to 60.
Auditions will call for two contrasting monologues that will be filmed on the night of the auditions. Audition DVDs may also be sent to the campus to the attention of Dr. Jerry Ivins, Theatre Department chair, 8060 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505.
Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. both days in Slocomb Auditorium, located at 8060 Spencer Highway in Pasadena. The auditions are open to the public, and enrollment at SJC is not required.
