Stage Door in Pasadena to present bayou-style 'Christmas Carol'
Stage Door Inc. will present a bayou-inspired adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” with performances beginning Nov. 25 and continuing through Dec. 18.
Shows will start at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays during the run, with matinees beginning at 3 p.m. on Sundays. Stage Door’s executive director Marc Anthony Glover created the adaptation of Scrooge, spirits and redemption to reflect his bayou upbringing, according to a press release.
Glover’s version is set in New Orleans and features voodoo spirits. Making it even more different is making Scrooge a woman, named Edith and played by Heather Gabriel.
Tickets cost $15, $12 seniors and students, $10 for kids under 12. Reservations are strongly recommended.
