HS football playoff preview: Deer Park vs. Pearland
Deer Park visits Pearland in 5A Area high school football playoff action on Friday.
The Deer finished the regular season at 10-1 overall and 5-0 in district play, and defeated Westbrook 31-30 in a 5A Bidistrict match-up on Friday.
Quarterback Austin Rainer threw for 2,058 yards and 19 touchdowns on the season.
The Oilers ended their season with an overall mark of 9-2 and 6-1 in district play. Pearland also defeated Elkins 41-0 in a 5A Bidistrict match-up on Friday.
Jackie Robinson rushed for 1,085 yards and nine touchdowns on the season.
Friday's kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
