Police seek identity of La Porte shoplifter
La Porte police are seeking area residents’ assistance in identifying a shoplifter who has stolen from the same local liquor store on multiple occasions.
According to a police report, on Oct. 14, an individual stole several bottles of liquor, with a retail value exceeding $100, from D&B liquor store in the 1100 Block of South Broadway. Then, on Oct. 28, an alleged thief had to force his way out of the building after activating a silent alarm. It is believed to be the same man who stole from the store two weeks earlier.
Police said the clerk saw the man enter the store from the south and leave in the same direction. In the first incident, police said they were unable to determine the direction he took when he left the building.
Several images of the suspect were captured on the liquor store's surveillance camera during both incidents, and investigators believe he will be quickly identified by “conscientious citizens.”
Anyone with information on either of the incidents or who recognizes the suspect may contact the La Porte Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 281-842-3173.
