Pasadena ISD chooses its Distinguished Citizen
Dana Philibert has been named Pasadena ISD’s Distinguished Citizen for 2011.
The district will honor Philibert, the owner of Philibert AllState Insurance in Pasadena and Deer Park, at a reception on Monday, Nov. 14, at the Administration Building.
A member of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce for 20 years, Philibert served as chairman from 2010 until this year. She was elected to the Pasadena City Council in 2001 and served there until 2009, and in 2006 she was named mayor pro tem.
Philibert is a member of the Pasadena ISD Education Foundation and served as president of the group in 2009. She continues to serve as a director for the foundation’s signature project, the Texas Invitational Basketball Tournament.
Philibert, a graduate of South Houston High School and Texas A&M, is also active in the Pasadena Rotary Club, the Pasadena Rodeo, the Pasadena Historical Society and her synagogue. She is a former Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary and is chairman of the Pasadena Rodeos Equine Committee.
