Pasadena to host 5K run, walk for 'fallen heroes'
The City of Pasadena’s emergency responders will host the annual Fallen Heroes Memorial 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct. 22.
This year’s run marks the third year for the Fallen Heroes event. It was created in 2009 as part of a fundraising event for the family of fallen Pasadena police officer Jesse Hamilton, as well as to pay tribute to all the men and women emergency responders.
The event begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Pasadena Convention Center and Fairgrounds. Registration is $35, or $40 the day of the race.
Registered participants will receive a tech fiber running shirt. Children 10 and under can participate for free, although they will not receive a shirt. Dogs can also participate for free, although they must be registered and leashed. All of the registered canine participants in the race will receive a free bandana.
After the run, there will be food and drinks at the finish line. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in the male, female and masters categories.
For more information or to register for the race, visit www.ppowa.org.
The Pasadena Convention Center and Fairgrounds is located at 7902 Fairmont.
