City of Deer Park to hold hearings on proposed property-tax increase
Deer Park residents can weigh in Oct. 4 and Oct. 11 on a proposal to raise the city's property tax rates.
Deer Park's City Council is weighing whether to adopt an effective tax rate of $0.711312 per $100 of taxable value, or increase it to $0.720000 per $100 of taxable value. The city is holding two public hearings to gather residents' input before the City Council votes on the proposal.
The Oct. 4 hearing will take place at 5 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers, 710 E. San Augustine St. The Oct. 11 hearing will take place at 7 p.m. at the same location.
Deer Park's City Council Members and Mayor Wayne Riddle are scheduled to attend both hearings.
