Red Door to stage 'Lil' Miss Lovelady'
The Red Door Theatre Company will stage a production of Alvin playwright John Grimmett’s “Lil’ Miss Lovelady.”
“Lovelady” takes place in a small Texas town where the most coveted possession is the annual beauty pageant title and crown. Through a series of unfortunate and hysterical gender-bending events, people try to maintain their reputation, composure and the crown.
Grimmett is a 2011 graduate of the University of Houston where he studied under American playwright Edward Albee. Beginning this fall, he will be pursuing his MFA in Musical Theatre Writing at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
The show will run from Friday, June 3, through Sunday, June 19. Show times will be at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and at 3:30 p.m. on Sundays.
Tickets are $10 for seniors 55 and older, students with a valid school ID and children 12 and under. Adult tickets cost $15.
The Red Door Theatre Company is located at 4513 Red Bluff Road in Pasadena.
