KHOU: Precinct 8 Constable resigns amid budget cuts
Harris County Precinct 8 Constable Bill Bailey has resigned in hopes of
guarding some of his employees from layoffs, Houston CBS affiliate KHOU
reports:
"The budget is a column of figures, but it translates into employees,
employees translate into families, Bailey said. That's pretty heavy.
Bailey said he hopes county commissioners will appoint his chief deputy as
his replacement, in effect, saving a job. But he said, he is done with
politics.
