Pasadena sales tax revenues increase over February of last year
The City of Pasadena collected slightly more in sales tax revenue this month than it did in February of last year, according to state figures.
The city brought in $2,590,682.83 for the month of February, as
opposed to $2,530,224.38 last year. That's an increase of $60,458.45
or about 2.4 percent.
The February numbers were also higher than the sales tax revenue for
January, which was $1,735,383.11. The January revenue was also higher
than the same month of last year; the total for January 2010 was
$1,605,676.73.
Residents of Pasadena pay 8.25 percent in sales taxes, 1.5 percent of
which is imposed by the city. Taxes also go to the Pasadena Crime
Control district, the revenue of which is not reflected here.
