Fake cable workers tie up, rob Deer Park man
Deer Park police are looking for three men posing as cable-company workers
who tied up a Deer Park man and stole a gun from his house Saturday night.
At about 9 p.m. Saturday, three man dressed in "reflective work vests and
hard hats" knocked on the door of the home, in the 1400 block of North Park
Ridge, police say. The men told the victim that they thought he was stealing
cable service, and they had the victim meet them in his backyard to inspect
his cable box.
Police say the men then attacked the victim, bound his hands and feet, and
took him back inside. The suspects then ransacked the house for items to
steal, and ended up taking only a handgun.
Once the three robbers left, the victim freed himself and reached a
neighbor, who called police.
