Pasadena police to offer citizens academy starting March 1
The Pasadena Police Department is accepting applications for its Citizen Police Academy program, which begins March 1.
The 13-week program is designed to provide participants with information to help them better understand the operation of the Pasadena Police Department. Participants will attend a weekly class every Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Community Room at the department, 1201 Davis.
The classes will vary from lectures to demonstrations and even hands-on practice. Planned topics include police pursuits, juvenile investigations, DWI, criminal investigations, SWAT, crime lab and crime scene investigations.
To apply for the Citizen Police Academy or for more information, contact Mollie Payne at 713-920-1655. Participants must be Pasadena business owners or residents, pass a background check and be at least 21 years old. Enrollment is free, but space is limited.
