La Porte ISD program aimed at special needs students
La Porte ISD's Special Education Department will present "A Showcase of Programs and Agencies" from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, in the La Porte High School Student Center, 301 East Fairmont Pkwy.
Parents are encouraged to attend.
Representatives from a variety of programs and agencies will be on hand to talk with parents about services for special education students.
The programs to be represented at the event include: Department for Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, Diversity Day Activities of Deer Park, La Porte Police Department, The Heart of Sailing, La Porte ISD Autism Program, Special Olympics, Special Programs Organized Recreational Therapy, Neighborhood Centers, Inc., United Way and Spina Bifida Association.
The expo also will include representation from Youth Services, La Porte Head Start Program, The Opportunity Center, La Porte High School Career and Technical Education Program, Families CAN (University of Houston), Houston Volunteer Lawyer Program, Harris County Library, Verne Cox Multipurpose Center, and La Porte ISD Visually Impaired Program, among others.
Refreshments will be served, and door prizes will be awarded.
A children's play area also will be available.
