Bay Area Youth Symphony plans competition, concert
The Bay Area Youth Symphony’s (BAYS) Mika Hasler Concerto Competition and Recital will be held on Sunday, Feb. 6, at 5 p.m.
Winners will receive cash scholarships in the amounts of $1,000, $500 and $100 and the chance to perform with BAYS in its spring concert. The judging is open to the public at Clear Creek High School.
BAYS' next concert will be Sunday, Feb. 27, at Clear Creek High School, featuring classical works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Antonio Vivaldi and Franz Joseph Haydn. Tickets are $10 at the door.
BAYS is an organization that provides students across the Southeast Houston area an opportunity to perform in a high-level musical ensemble while enriching their musical education.
Clear Creek High School is located at 2929 Bay Area Blvd.
