Free seminar on menopause topics offered in Pasadena area

Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital will host a free menopause management education program on Thursday, Feb. 17 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The free program is aimed at providing medical information and peer support to women dealing with the physical and psychological impact of menopause.

Dr. Rajan Kadakia, a cardiologist affiliated with Memorial Hermann, will present "The Beat Goes On:  Understanding Heart Disease and Menopause," including information about the connection between menopause and the risk for cardiovascular disease.  He will provide information on prevention and ways to lower risk factors.

Participants also will enjoy red wine and dark chocolate treats, with wine pairing available during the event.

The event is presented in conjunction with Red Hot Mamas, the nation’s largest menopause management education program. Its mission is to broaden the base of women’s knowledge about menopause and empower them to become educated healthcare consumers.

The seminar will be held at the Bay Oaks Country Club, located at 14545 Bay Oaks Blvd.

To register, call 713-222-CARE (2273).
