Gun goes off, killing woman in Arlington Square apartment
A woman died in what witnesses said was an accidental shooting at her apartment in southeast Houston early Thursday morning.
Bianca A. Perez, 21, was killed in the shooting, which occurred at 3942 Arlington Square near Edgebrook about 5 a.m., police said.
Police said Perez was wounded in the head and died at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
Police said officers dispatched to the apartment about the gunfire found Perez' body inside the apartment.
Witnesses told investigators the gun accidently fired, hitting the woman. Police did not release details about the case, such as if anyone was handling the gun when it fired.
The case is being referred to a Harris County grand. Police were still investigating the shooting.
