Deer Park plans sunrise exercise for early risers
The City of Deer Park will be offering early morning exercise classes starting in January and running until May.
From 6 a.m. to 6:40 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, early risers of all ages can join the workouts at the Deer Park Community Center and do a variety of weight lifting, cardio and stretching exercises designed to tone the entire body from head to toe.
There will be three sessions, the first starting Tuesday, Jan. 4, which runs through Thursday, Feb. 3. The second session will start Tuesday, Feb. 15, and run through Thursday, March 24, with no class meeting on Tuesday, March 1. The third and final session will start Tuesday, April 5, and end Thursday, May 5.
The cost is $35 for five weeks. For walk-ins, the cost is $7, and it must be exact change. Those who attend are asked to bring hand weights to each class.
