North Shore's Chris Dever commits to Miami (OH)
North Shore Mustangs tight end Chris Dever committed to Miami University in Oxford Ohio earlier this week.
Dever has 235 receiving yards and four touchdown receptions this season. He is averaging 19.58 yards per reception.
Dever was a 2009 5A District-21 second-team selection and joins North Shore teammates Sedrick Flowers (Texas), Miketavius Jones (Oklahoma State), Derrick Matthews (Houston), and Kendrick Ruben (North Texas) who have also committed.
The Miami University RedHawks compete in the Mid-American Conference and have appeared in numerous Bowl games.
The RedHawks lost 17-13 to Iowa State in their most recent Bowl game the 2004 Independence Bowl.
Dever's Miami University teammates will include many Houston-area players including former North Shore teammate Tracy Woods.
Woods was a three-time all-district selection at North Shore and is a RedHawks freshman running back.
Other Houston-area RedHawks players include Devin Becks (Eisenhower), Allen Veazie (Eisenhower), Nick Hartwell (Ft. Bend Elkins), Kelvin Jackson (Ft. Bend Hightower), Trey Payne (Klein Oak), Joseph Williams (Strake Jesuit), and Wes Williams (Strake Jesuit).
