Couple sues landscaping company for daughter's death
A Pasadena landscaping company is being sued for allegedly causing a young girl’s death.
Diana and Miguel Castillo, individually and as heirs of the Estate of Alyssa Castillo, filed a lawsuit on Sept. 16 in the Loren Jackson District Court against Jaime R. Aguilar and the business, A. Aguilar Landscaping, for causing Alyssa’s death.
On Sept. 16, 2008, three days after Hurricane Ike caused power outages and damage in their neighborhood, the Castillos claim that while their 5-year-old daughter Alyssa played outside with her 10-year-old aunt, Aguilar’s truck struck and killed the girl.
Aguilar was driving a 1989 Ford pick-up through the darkened streets at an allegedly high speed, and on the wrong side of the road when the accident happened.
The Castillos claim negligence on the part of the driver and are seeking exemplary damages, bystander damages, wrongful death damages and survival action damages.
The Castillos are being represented by Houston attorney Arturo V. Ramirez.
