Kilgore hurting after losing Hans Cook
The fortunes of the Kilgore Junior College football team have dimmed since losing quarterback Hans Cook, the former Deer Park High school quarterback.
Cook was hurt in the overtime loss at Tyler two weeks ago and may be out for an extended time.
Cook, a sophomore, was the key cog in the Rangers late season surge last year.He led his team to the Junior College playoffs.
Kilgore JC eventually lost to rival Navarro, but not before Cook threw down some serious offensive fireworks. The Deer Park graduate led the Rangers to 40, 39, and two straight 68 point scoring outbursts in their last four games of 2009.
The Rangers lost again Saturday at home in their conference opener to Trinity valley.
KC is 0-3 and faces their nemesis, Navaro, on the road this Saturday.
