On Tuesday evening, a traffic accident took the life of one male pedestrian and sent another to the hospital with minor injuries.
Houston police are investigating the incident, which took place on Sept. 14, at approximately 8:35 p.m., at the 9500 block of Old Galveston Road.
According to HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Wilson and Officer J. Ortiz, the driver of a white Chevrolet Express van was heading north on Old Galveston Road when he struck two pedestrians walking on the east shoulder of the roadway.
The driver was questioned and released at the scene and no charges were filed, although an investigation into the matter is continuing. It does not appear as if alcohol was a factor in the accident.
